  About Me

Ms. Ronning spent her first four years after high school as an Avionics Technician on F/A-18 aircraft in the US Navy. She learned troubleshooting techniques and participated as one of the first women aboard combat ships in a ‘trial cruise’ of 85 women and 3500 men on the USS Constellation (CV-64). She completed her Associates of Science in Electronics Technology in on-base night courses from Chapman University and at nearby Fresno State University while stationed at NAS Lemoore, California. She went on to complete her BS Electrical Engineering degree at San Diego State University where she became actively involved in leading the student section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Ms. Ronning started her career in the land mobile radio industry as an intern at Motorola’s Western Division Headquarters office in San Diego in 1997, where she stayed on board to become a systems’ engineer leading projects in the Los Angeles and surrounding region. Ms. Ronning then took on a position as Radio Shop Supervisor for City of Glendale, where she led the development of [now a 12 agency] regional radio network, originally known as ‘ICIS’ Interagency Communications Interoperability System. Once the radio system was successfully deployed, Ms. Ronning transitioned to a consulting role with L. R. Kimball & Associates and later, Federal Engineering, where she led as Owner’s Engineer and Technical Lead for projects nationwide. Ms. Ronning recently led Tait Communications as their Principal Engineer for the US Market.
