  About Me

After 32 years in financial services (Technology, Product Development, Program Management, Operations and Controls) I am looking forward to a second-act career helping our community. This fire and passion was recently fueled by serving as President of the Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (AGLCC) -- an affiliate chapter of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). With a mission of driving economic success for the LGBT business community and allies; I had an opportunity to roll up my sleeves and work alongside community activists, advocates and civic leaders. All focused on equity, equality and prosperity of the LGBTQ+ community in Atlanta and surrounding areas. In my corporate role, I supported and mentored LGBT employees, women leaders and young professionals, encouraging them to engage and grow, personally and professionally. I served as an advocate, a voice, and a champion for diversity, inclusion and workplace equality. I founded and co-chaired our corporate Diversity and Cultural Council (Employee Resource Group (ERG) Steering Committee). I also served as the Executive Sponsor of UNITY – LGBT ERG. My coming out (at work) story was published in the Atlanta Business Chronicle/Pride Edition 2016. Corporate achievements included -- Increased Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Equality Index score from 45 to 100 and earned "Best Places to Work for LGBT" distinction for five consecutive years -- Implemented LGBTQ+ Ally Pledge - more than 3,000 associates signed their support of equal rights for all people -- Implemented self-identification capabilities -- Changed policies to include anti-discrimination to include gender identity -- Implemented benefits to cover children of domestic partners -- Introduced gender-neutral paid parental leave -- Implemented progressive Transgender benefits -- Increased visibility and impact in our communities through volunteerism, board seats, sponsored networking events and more. Representing the Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (President May 2018 - May 2019) and bringing my experiences and skills from my corporate role to the Chamber truly changed my life. I am proud of our accomplishments in what felt like a very short year (Growth: 100+ new members, doubled our corporate partners from 22 to 44 and grew our certified LGBT Business Enterprises to 70+ (4th in the Nation) – Maturity: introduced our first strategic plan, new inclusion Board Chair position, controls and financial stability). ? I am also a proud member of the Discover Dekalb Convention & Visitor's Bureau (DCVB) Board of Directors and excited to help promote DeKalb County, GA (including cities of Chamblee, Doraville, Stonecrest, Tucker, and unincorporated DeKalb County) as an INCLUSIVE and WELCOME destination for EVERYONE. Honored by Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) with the 2018 Diversity Leadership Award of Excellence (Enterprise) and by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of the 2018 “Women Who Mean Business”. In 2017 awarded by Georgia Diversity Council as one of 2017's "Most Powerful & Influential Women".
